After school, before school & intersession
ELOP

Your ELOP partner for engaging and culturally-grounded enrichment.

Culture Club fills your after school, before school and intersession hours with music, dance and martial arts that keep students coming back. We handle the details, from compliance to equipment, curriculum, training and culminating events.

After school, before school & intersession

Weekly classes during the school year, plus programs that fill summer, winter and spring intersessions.

Staffed to ELOP ratios

10:1 for TK and kindergarten and 20:1 for grades 1 and up. Bigger group? We can discuss additional support to keep us compliant.

Quality Standards for Expanded Learning

Every program is designed to support California’s Quality Standards: active, engaged, skill-building, youth voice, and healthy choices.

Reliable Teaching Artists

Our Teaching Artists are trained in classroom management and behavioral intervention, in addition to their artform. Substitutes are pre-assigned to maintain consistent student progress.

Compliance made easy

We handle Live Scans, TB clearance and Mandated Reporter training. End-of-session summaries that boost attendance and enrollment.

A showcase to finish strong

Every session ends with a student showcase, which encourages engagement and builds community.

During the school day
Prop 28

Have Prop 28 funds? Partner with us.

Prop 28, the Arts and Music in Schools Act, gives every California public school new yearly funding for arts education. Culture Club partners with schools and districts to turn that funding into standards-based music and dance instruction during the school day, built to add to your arts offerings and never replace them.

Do you know about the waiver?

Prop 28 asks most districts to spend at least 80% of their funds on school staff, which can leave little room for arts partners. Districts can ask the California Department of Education to waive that rule. Contact us and we’ll explain it quickly and easily, so you can make the most of your funding.

The whole child

Every program connects to the whole child.

Our programs are built around the Whole Child approach, so every student is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged. Every program, from music to martial arts, supports all five.

Healthy

Active, joyful movement and breathwork in every class.

Safe

Community agreements, self-control, and cleared, trained adults.

Engaged

Culture-rich content students see themselves in, and a real stage to share it.

Supported

SEL routines, mentoring teaching artists, and support for IEPs, 504 plans, and English learners.

Challenged

Step-by-step pathways, skills checklists, and performances that stretch every student.

Social-emotional learning

SEL is built into every class.

Music, dance, and martial arts are natural places to practice social-emotional skills. Every Culture Club class opens with community agreements and closes with reflection, and every program builds all five CASEL competencies and follows the California Department of Education’s SEL Guiding Principles.

Self-awareness

Naming feelings, finding a personal voice, and knowing when to take a breath.

Self-management

Focus, steady breathing, and staying calm under pressure, from practice to the big show.

Social awareness

Learning the cultures and stories behind every art form, and respecting every classmate.

Relationship skills

Working as a team, giving and getting support, and cheering each other on.

Responsible decision-making

Making creative choices, caring for shared gear, and giving kind, specific feedback.

Why Culture Club

Culture at the core. Research and standards underneath.

Culture in every class

Mariachi, folklórico, Black American Music, West African dance, Budō. Students learn the people, places, and history behind every art form, taught with respect and with culture bearers whenever we can.

Built on research

Our programs draw on arts education and child development research, CASEL’s SEL framework, and the Whole Child approach, using proven practices like sequential skill building and culturally responsive teaching.

Aligned with standards

Every music and dance class is aligned to the 2019 California Arts Standards, the state’s current VAPA standards. Martial arts aligns to the California Physical Education Standards.

Growth you can see

Students join wherever they are and move step by step, with a skills checklist and a showcase along the way. They keep coming back because they keep growing.

Compliance, covered

Every teaching artist is Live Scan (DOJ and FBI) and TB cleared, and completes mandated reporter training annually. We staff to ELOP ratios and hand you the attendance records and reports your funding requires.

We’ll take it from here

Teaching artists, lesson plans, every instrument and piece of equipment, scheduling, and reporting. One call fills your whole enrichment calendar, and there’s nothing for your school to buy or prepare.

Our story

One shared idea.

Culture Club Education LLC was founded by people who know school programs from every side. We started as teaching artists, each in our own discipline: dance, music, martial arts and sports. But that’s only where we began. Between us, we’ve run program operations, managed school and district partnerships, and built the systems that keep programs running for more than 50 California school districts. We know what it takes to make a program work in practice, on a Tuesday afternoon with twenty kids and one hour. We also know how to solve the bigger problems behind it, in an education landscape that is complex, layered and always changing.

We came together because we believe arts education shouldn’t be cut off from the things that give it meaning: culture, history, and the people who carry these traditions forward. Movement, rhythm and discipline aren’t extras. They’re how communities have always taught, remembered and celebrated.

On our own, each of us held one piece. Together, we’re building something whole: programming where every part gets real attention, from well-researched curriculum to diverse, well-trained teaching artists who show up fully for every class. For us, care is the standard we hold ourselves to at every site and in every hour.

We know this work, and we’re here to raise what schools can expect from it.
